Transformer re-engineering process

Our transformer re-engineering process guarantees that our used transformers are sold in the best possible condition. The process encompasses the following stages:

• Sourcing and stocking of quality surplus plant
• Inspection and classification on arrival
• Detanking
• Core inspection and core stoving
• Full tank overhaul and replacement of all seals and gaskets
• New cable box and bushings where required
• Tap switch assessment
• Oil replacement
• Re-assembly and painting
• Testing and despatch to BSEN60076

Our re-engineered transformers come from manufacturers including BRUSH, ABB, SOUTH WALES, GEC, AEI, MERLIN GERIN, SCHNEIDER, WODEN, ENGLISH ELECTRIC, NEI, BABCOCK, SIEMENS and ALSTOM.
